frost

We had our first frost last night at Rock Meadow. Right on schedule. The squashes, tomatoes and peppers have all wilted back.

I remember the first frost event--some years, untimely in my Ipswich garden. I'll watch with interest as you make a new garden in new environs. Susan

I felt sad looking at my plants looking weak at the end of the season. But I know there will be a next year coming for a new garden.

Hi,

Just browsing the many gardening blogs and happened here. Wondering if you have tried covering the plants with something to prevent the frost?? We have JUST planted our first vegie patch, so still learning :)

Cheers~

Dear Kathy, This is the first time I leave a comment on your blog, even if I often visit it. I like a lot the quote by Thomas Cooper you report on your homepage.

Hi.. this is totally weird but I have been reading through your blog because I am working on a school project and need to know roughly how much it costs just to build a community garden with just 2-4 plots. This will just include chicken wire to surround it, the box the garden goes in, soil and seeds :)
