It’s hard to photograph black dogs but they are always so cute.

I clipped their paws, nails, ears, and “privates” today. They were good. They each did their share of time up on the grooming table. Suzie has a recurring ear issue so i clipped and shaved all the fur around her ears nice and short. I could see the air blowing in (ears flapping) on our walk today.

We’ve had some adventures lately. We walk 2-3 miles a day. These dogs are so active, especially my puppy Charley. They need lots of activity. There are great wooded trails locally and nice street walking here too. Charley pulls on his leash still and I’m working with him on that. Suzie is a bad girl and loves to find smelly stuff (poop) to roll in on our walks in the woods. She can find really gross stuff. Last walk she and Charley disappeared in the woods and returned with deer leg. Ugh. A fresh coyote kill I guess. My pups look pretty, but they can be trouble.

Charley is moving on in his training classes. He did puppy kindergarten, beginner and advanced beginner Obedience, then Attention class and he’s now in an advanced Attention class. He loves classes. And he’s a super star. Not that the class work translates to other situations, but we have fun, Charley loves the challenge, and I love working with him.

I have plans for both dogs to do agility classes this spring and summer. Suzie has already started agility training. She loves it. (Of course she’s a super star). I have agilty equipment in the yard (under the snow and ice niw). I look forward to practicing with it on nice warm days to come. We don’t do competition. We just have fun. (Unfortunately my agility skills aren’t up to the dogs level. It’s not easy to be fleet footed in garden boots,)
